Introduction and Purpose
The urban transportation landscape is experiencing significant change, with the introduction of new technologies and operators that have changed the way passengers learn about, access, and receive real-time information about transportation alternatives. At Swiftly, we are focused on partnering with transit agencies, who we believe serve as the backbone for sustainable urban transport. To advance our current agency partners’ ability to harness their data for improved operations, we are pleased to invite you to join the Swiftly Technology Alliance.
The Swiftly Technology Alliance is intended to bring together transit agencies, consultants, and academic partners to:
Discuss common challenges associated with accessing and combining disparate sources of transit data.
Share best practices on harnessing big data to streamline operations.
Discuss opportunities to use historical data on system performance for long-range planning needs.
Benefits of Collaboration
Members of the Technology Alliance will benefit from shared dialogue on innovative solutions to address pressing challenges facing their agencies. Swiftly will facilitate discussion, preview new tools, and gather feedback on solutions that are designed to help agencies more cost-effectively and flexibly deliver transportation service to millions of riders a day. Swiftly hopes to hear from you, our partners, about the most challenging problems you face and your ideas for new solutions to improve mobility in your city.
A representative from your transit agency is expected to join an hour-long conference call once a quarter. Specific days and times are to be determined. We may increase the frequency of our conference calls if there is adequate interest.
Requests of Participants
The success of the Technology Alliance will depend on your engagement and participation. Technology Alliance members were selected due to their forward-thinking, innovative approaches to developing data-driven insights to improve public transportation. Over the course of the next year, we ask that your agency designate at least one primary point of contact to participate in, and add value to the group through quarterly conference calls, and one in-person meeting. Multiple agency participants are welcome and encouraged.
